What is Suspicious Activity Reporting - Line Officer Training?
Version 2 of the Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Line Officer Training was developed in 2014 to assist law enforcement line officers in understanding what kinds of suspicious behaviors are associated with pre-incident terrorism and other criminal activity, documenting and reporting suspicious activity, and protecting privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties when documenting information. This training also provides information about integrating the Nationwide SAR Initiative (NSI) into your organization's operations.
note: The SAR Line Officer Training is intended for law enforcement personnel only.
On-site Suspicious Activity Reporting - Line Officer Training:
In this four (4) hour course Frontline law enforcement personnel are trained to recognize behaviors and incidents that may indicate criminal activity associated with terrorism. Their routine duties position them to observe and report suspicious behaviors or activities, including hostile surveillance activities, precursors to Homemade Explosives (HME), Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) and the Terrorist Attack Planning Cycle. Within this course participants will also receive the NSI-SAR Line Officer Training Certification that focuses on the critical role line officers have in the effective implementation of the Suspicious Activities Reporting (SAR) process by identifying and documenting suspicious activity.
