PREVENTION before REACTION
Behavioral Based Safety Program
In the workplace environment we must change the thought process related to workplace injuries. There is no such thing as a workplace "accidents", only workplace negligence. A true accident can't be prevented but negligence can. Negligence can be confused for accidents when in fact negligence is no accident at all, it is a 100% preventable behavior.
Employees have to know and respect the dangers in their work environment. A dangerous mentality begins when an employee and leadership allow complacency to settle in. Complacency doesn't happen overnight, it slowly transitions from doing something the right way to finding quicker but not necessarily a safer way to complete the same task.
So, what does this mean to you?
Negligence can be prevented if an employee knows the risk, knows the right way to do the job, and leadership and fellow employees know how to recognize dangerous behaviors leading up to workplace injury and possible corrective action.
This is where we come in.
If someone knows the right way to do something and knowingly does something different, they develop a fear of discovery. Whether it is OSHA, safety inspector or management, an employee will exhibit stress behavior. These behaviors are scientifically proven indicators that show the bodies self induced stress being released by the body. Our training separates those employees doing the right thing from employees who are exhibiting high-risk behaviors that warrants further investigation and possible corrective action.
Our training covers the following topics;
Safety briefs and initial strategies
Assessing the environment
The four factors of situational awareness
Advanced conversation skills
The "Trip story"
Emergency decision making process
The DHS - "See something, Say something" campaign
If you are responsible for the safety of your employees, this training must be at the top of your list!
